Between a spot on Iowa’s biggest music festival and a tour spanning 11 states and 3,000-plus miles, this summer is shaping up to be a busy one for Cedar Falls band Hex Girls. The band’s summer tour “Rally from the Valley” includes 15 shows from July 26 through August 10 and stretches north to Minneapolis, southeast to Nashville, west to Tulsa and Lawrence, and finally wraps up in their home base, Cedar Falls. Hex Girls will launch their summer tour fresh from a three-show stint at the annual 80/35 music festival in Des Moines.

Hex Girls was conceived by brothers John and Nick Fisher along with Charlie “Chuck” Patterson as a rock-roll antidote to the monotonous hum of their humble hometown, Mechanicsville, Iowa. The trio moved to Cedar Falls and teamed up with producer and drummer Ross Klemz, who joined the band in 2017.

The “rough and tumble” rock band released their debut LP More of That on vinyl on January 1, now available for download and streaming HERE. Little Village Magazine described “More of That” as an album with “a unique sound, but one that is grounded in classic rock and punk. It’s an edgy, nervous and anthemic blend with bits of glam, no wave and vintage rock with a fair share of disaffected punk attitude.”

Hex Girls previewed their album release with the debut of a music video, directed by Dylan Sires, in October for the track, “City of Rain” which is available for streaming HERE. Little Village compared “the stabbing guitar chords and chugging rhythm” on the track to 70’s era Rolling Stones stating, “The dark and ominous lonely rap owes a bit to “Shattered” from the album Some Girls. “City of Rain” appears on the new album More of That.
